Elena Liashenko

Elena Liashenko is a Ukrainian figure skater. She is the 2004 European silver medalist
and 1995 and 2005 bronze medalist. She is also 4-time Olympic team member of Ukraine.
In summer of 2005, Liashenko married Ukrainian pentathlete Andrei Efremenko, the brother of Galina Efremenko
's husband. In 2007 they had a son, Platon. After retiring from competition, she began coaching young children in Kiev.

Biography
Liashenko started skating at the age of four-and-a-half. She is a three-time European Medalist, had earned multiple National Champion titles, and is a four-time Olympian. She finished in the Top 10 at the World Championships nine times. Her highest finish was sixth, in 1994 and 2002. She retired after the 2005/2006 season due to recurring injury. Her injuries became a problem after the national championships. She withdrew from the 2006 European Championships, but managed to compete at the Olympics. Galina Efremenko
Galina Efremenko is a Ukrainian figure skater. She competed as Galina Maniachenko from 1994 until 2005 when she began competing under her married name, Efremenko. She is a three time Ukrainian national champion and twice competed at the Winter Olympics, placing 12th in 2002...
's husband. In 2007 they had a son, Platon. After retiring from competition, she began coaching young children in Kiev.
