from James Monroe to a seat on the United States District Court for the District of Maryland
vacated by Theodorick Bland. Formally nominated on December 16, 1824, Glenn was confirmed by the United States Senate
on January 3, 1825, and received his commission the same day. Glenn's service was terminated by his resignation on April 1, 1836.
He returned to private practice in Baltimore from 1836 until his death in that city in 1846.
