Emerald is a ghost town
in Crockett County, Texas

. The community's elevation and exact geographic coordinates
are unknown, as nothing remains of the town, however it is said to be located between the hills of the Edwards Plateau. As Crockett County was organized in 1890 and Ozona became the county seat, the entire town of Emerald moved to Ozona. In 1897 the last remaining building in Emerald, the school house, was moved to Ozona.
