Emmanuel Daniel is a Singapore-based entrepreneur. After pursuing studies at the National University of Singapore and the University of London, and entering a career in management consulting, Daniel founded The Asian Banker

The Asian Banker’s original product was launched in December 1996. Throughout 1997 and 1998, it provided on-the-ground coverage of the Asian financial crisis, anchored by Daniel’s journalistic skills and award-winning articles—Daniel won the prestigious Citibank Excellence in Journalism Award for the Asian region in February 1999 for his work in determining the impact of the Internet on banking.
Daniel built a research division called The Banking Academy, which conducts research on financial institutions and publishes the influential annual compilation of bank statistics The Asian Banker 300, and an events division, which manages The Asian Banker Summit. Daniel has also created awards programmes such as the Excellence in Retail Financial Services, and the Leadership Achievement Awards.
