. He played as a forward for GD Viação de Sernache (now GD Vitória de Sernache), Sporting Clube de Portugal and Vitória Setúbal. He won the National Championship title and the final of the Cup Winners Cup, with Sporting Clube de Portugal.
He had 6 caps for Portugal National Team, from the 3–1 win over Denmark, in 21 June 1966, in a friendly match, to the 0–1 loss to England, in 10 December 1969, in another friendly match. He was a member of the squad that was present at the World Cup 1966 finals, though he did not play any match.
