Estell Manor was incorporated as a city by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature
on March 14, 1925, from portions of Weymouth Township
.

, the city has a total area of 54.9 square miles (142.2 km²), of which, 53.6 square miles (138.8 km²) of it is land and 1.3 square miles (3.4 km²) of it (2.44%) is water.

living together, 7.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.0% were non-families. 13.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.95 and the average family size was 3.27.
In the city the population was spread out with 30.2% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 30.1% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 101.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.6 males.
