area.
In the area of Lauder, Lauderdarian used to be the main language spoken in the town of Lauder. Nowadays people normally only use English or German. In Lauder, it is very common for people who grew up there to speak Lauderdarian, English and German. In most shops people will speak in both English and German, although Lauderdarian can still be seen used by the locals.
Lauderdarian is generally referred to as a mix of German, Galic and Borders. Often a quote from the film Donnie Darko can be seen written as an example of the language. In the film the quote is in English "Every living creature dies alone", in Lauderdarian this is translated as "Yedodh animordor tordes elges". Yedodh (yaydoch) means Every, animordor is two words; (ani) meaning living and (Mordor) meaning creature. Tordes means dies and elges is alone. Whilst it may look complicated, Lauderdarain is actually very simple.
