Eurotalk
Encyclopedia
EuroTalk is a company that develops interactive language learning software, based in London.
Their product is a set of CD-ROMs that are all essentially the same in their own level except that each disc has been altered to the language it's made for. At present 131 languages are offered, including lesser-known languages such as Kinyarwanda, Frisian, Breton and Papiamentu. Latest additions to the range include Flemish (Belgian Dutch) and Klingon.
EuroTalk is now branching out from purely CD-ROM based material, introducing new versions available as a download, USB and DVD video. They have also released an app for iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and Android called uTalk.
The company's products are sold worldwide through their website and a network of experienced distributors; 70% of their revenue comes from outside the UK.
EuroTalk has won The Queen's Award for Innovation.
