Exari
Encyclopedia
Exari is an enterprise software company, founded in 1999, which has pioneered interactive document assembly using a patented XML
design that ensures the validity of both the template and the assembled output documents, for arbitrary XML
document types. In simple terms, the company's technology puts a user-friendly, browser-based, front-end onto the task of creating any type of standards-compliant document, for example, a contract marked up with semantic tags to denote legal and risk issues. Exari can be used to automate semi-standard documents such as NDAs, Sales contracts, financial documentation, and insurance policies.
Originally founded by a team of lawyers and engineers, the company was participant in the LegalXML eContracts and OpenDocument standardization
processes.
The company raised venture capital from Beacon Equity Partners in 2008, and now has offices in Boston, London, Munich and Melbourne.

Technology
Exari's use of structured XML templates, and validating XML authoring tools, makes it possible to automate complex contracts and legal documents. The Exari engine powers self-service legal websites such as the SmartDocs service of the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association. It is also used by legal departments to automate contract drafting for large global companies and government agencies, originally in Australia and more recently in the United States and Europe.Other
