SATMOS was originally called Copper Chiefs Football Club and was formed in 1996 by Late Samuel Thotogelo Molati Sono (SATMOS). The club is popularly known as the Cheetahs. It became a professional team in 1997. Its Motto is Youth Development and Professionalism.
The club played in the Mascom Premier League
in 2006/07, but were relegated to Botswana Division One after finishing the league in the 16th position.
