FK Krajina Cazin was formed in 1932, and competed in lower regional and amateur leagues in Yugoslavia

 until the independence of Bosnia and Hercegovina. In 1993, the club joined the First League of Herzeg-Bosnia, which was the top league for clubs with a connection to Croat ethnicity. In 2000/01, the club participated in the inaugral Bosnian Premier League
