History

Monarchs are an amalgamation of five "old" hockey clubs, who over time found it difficult to exist in their own right so came together to form Monarchs.

Teams

Monarchs, in season 2010/2011, have three playing teams

1st Team - play in the Scottish Hockey Union National League Division 3 and Indoor National League Division 4

2nd Team - play in the Midland Hockey Union Division 1

Development Team - play in the Midland Hockey Union Division 2

Hall of Fame Players

Monarchs have had many good players over the seasons, some of whom have moved on to higher clubs. Thankfully some have remained with Monarchs for a number of seasons and have been entered into their hall of fame.

David "The Cat" Hunter - a prolific organiser, ex Goalkeeper and now goal scorer.

Martin "Boagie" Boag - a renowned goal scorer and a pain in the neck to opposition and umpires.

Andrew "Big Mac" McArtney - a solid defender with a tackle that can fell trees never mind opposition strikers. A good guy.

Alan "Badu" Mackay - a man mountain of a Goal Keeper, the smell of his kit can repel shots on its own.

Sui "Tony" Cheng - a magnet for opposition strikers, he draws them into a tackle and invariably comes out with the ball.
