Fairmilehead

Fairmilehead is a district of South Edinburgh
. It lies approximately 3 miles due south of the city centre and borders Midlothian
. The area comprises the districts of Buckstone, Caiystane, Swanston, Frogston and Winton.
The centre of the area is the crossroads between Buckstone Terrace/Biggar Road and Frogston Road/Oxgangs Road. There is a bank and a shop at the crossroads, as well as Fairmilehead Parish Church, which is a parish church of the Church of Scotland
. The church has 5 modern halls where dozens of activities and interests are pursued each week by the local and wider communities.Church Halls

Scottish Water also maintain a filter bed and offices at Fairmilehead. This is to be replaced shortly by a new centre being constructed at Flotterstone, a few miles south of the city border, along the A702 (Biggar Road).
