Fakta is a Danish
chain of discount store
s. It is owned by FDB and was founded in 1981 as Dansk Discount A/S. Fakta has been the fastest growing discount chain in Denmark. In 2006 fakta earned 8.1 billion Danish Kroner. In February 2007 the chain had over 340 stores.
Fakta's previous slogan
was: Det ta'r kun 5 minutter at handle i Fakta, men vi vil så gerne ha' at du bli'r lidt længere, which translated into English
means: "It only takes 5 minutes to shop in Fakta, but we really want you to stay a bit longer".
It was replaced in 2011 with Det er sund fornuft which literally translates to "It's common sense"
By 2008 Fakta hopes to have over 400 stores around Denmark. They also operate stores with a longer opening time called "Fakta Quick" which is open from 10 am
to 10 pm, 7 days a week.
