History

A previous alignment of FM 2127 existed in Delta County. It was designated in 1953 but cancelled the following year, with its mileage transferred to . The current designation of FM 2127 was established in Wise County in 1956, from (now part of FM 1810) to Crafton. The route was extended into Jack County to in 1967, and further lengthened through Montague County over the western portion of FM 1125 to SH 148 the following year, bringing FM 2127 to its current routing.
