game.
Name
The name "Farmageddon" derives from a biblical reference to armageddon and both school's strong emphasis on agriculture within the scientific community and respected states. Both schools have a college of agriculture and an extension program that supplies new research to farmers in both Kansas and Iowa. The name has fan roots that can be attributed to the various message boards and media covering each team.Trophy
Currently no trophy has been adopted for the game, but fans have shown interest in the potential of starting a traveling trophy. The trophy would most likely be based on the agriculture roots of the schools, potentially a bronze tractor, ear of corn, plow, etc. Since the game will now be played on Thanksgiving weekend, many fans have supported the idea of a "Thanksgiving Tractor" as an idea for a possible trophy. The idea of a "Golden Acre" on each campus has also been discussed among fans with it planted to corn if Iowa State wins or wheat if Kansas State wins the game.Game results
