Origins

The origins of the Farrer Football League started in 1920 when the Albury and Border Football Association commenced and operated from 1920 to 1927. After a two year recess the competition reformed as the Albury & District Football League in 1930 and operated until 1957.

Breakaway

The Farrer Football League first formed in 1957 as a breakaway from the Albury & District Football League. Culcairn, Henty, Holbrook and Mangoplah-Cookardinia United competed in the first season. In 1958 all remaining clubs from the Albury & District Football League had moved across to the new league.
