North East Fife is a constituency of the Scottish Parliament
. It elects one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP)
by the plurality (first past the post) method of election. It is one of nine constituencies in the Mid Scotland and Fife electoral region
, which elects seven additional members, in addition to nine constituency MSPs, to produce a form of proportional representation
for the region as a whole.

For the next election in 2011, the reshaped North East Fife constituency will be formed from the following electoral wards;

. It is a relatively prosperous, largely rural, lowland seat, on the coast, with successful livestock farming, fruit-growing and tourism interests. Unemployment is relatively low.
