In summer 2007, he was first signed by U.D. Leiria, but due to problem with coach, he left for CSKA Sofia. He scored the goal for the 1:0 win in the match between CSKA Sofia and Levski Sofia in the fall of 2007. He stayed there until August 2008.
As a free agent, and following a trial period, Filipe Machado signs a 1+2 year contract with Serie B side Salernitana
in August 2009.
He was released in January 2010 after Machado trailed at Albacete Balompié
and not received any wage from Salernitana. But the deal with the Spanish club has failed.
In 2010-11 season he left for Inter Baku

As of February 2011 he moved to the United Arab Emirates
