on a free transfer, scoring once against Bradford City. He then joined Scottish First Division club St. Johnstone on loan

. Hibs also fined Morais for being up late before a match and for the assault. Morais scored two goals for Hibs, with strikes against Queen's Park in the Scottish League Cup and Kilmarnock in the league.
Morais was then released by Hibs to sign for Inverness Caledonian Thistle
in January 2009, along with Thierry Gatheussi. Morais scored two goals on his debut for Inverness against Partick Thistle
in the Scottish Cup
. Morais left Inverness after they were relegated to the Scottish First Division and he rejected their offer of a new contract. He signed a one year deal with newly-promoted St. Johnstone, who replaced Inverness in the Scottish Premier League
. He left the club at the end of the 2009-10 season, citing a desire to return to England.
In July 2010 Morais began a trial with League One club Brighton & Hove Albion
and featured in their friendly against Eastbourne Borough.

His second goal for the Latics came in the very next game against Wallsall. At the end of the 2010-11 season he was offered a new contract by Oldham and in June 2011 the club confirmed he would be staying with them for the 2011-12 season.
