First to Leave

First to Leave is a band from suburbs of San Francisco. The band originally consisted of Mike Stearns on guitar, Tony Torres on bass, Murtaza Sajjad on drums, and Matt Foster on vocals. They formed in 2002, though having previous line-ups and sounds before Matt Foster joining, First to Leave became official that year. Zack Lindenberg joined later in 2005 and played guitar.

The band recorded a demo 7" in 2004 on their friend's record label Culdesac Records. With that release, they gained a decent following in the San Francisco bay area punk/hardcore scene playing with such bands as This Time Next Year

First to Leave was signed to Lobster Records

in 2006 and have finished their Lobster Records debut. It was recorded at Magpie cage studios in Baltimore with producer J. Robbins. Their album, Forging a Future After recording the album the three original members Tony, Murtaza, and Mike parted ways with First to Leave.

After complications with Lobster Records legal troubles with Victory Records, First to Leave signed on with Wednesday Records to finally release their album Forging a Future, which has an official release shelf date of October 9, 2007.
