, on the opposite bank of the Lea. The planning authority LTGDC intends to see it developed as a mixed-use community with land used for housing, employment and open space, with improved access links.

Forman and Field, producers of gourmet food, relocated to the island in 2009 due to their former site being chosen as the site of the new Olympic Stadium. Their new premises now enjoys a full view of the stadium.
