Middle Ages

The Middle Ages is a periodization of European history from the 5th century to the 15th century. The Middle Ages follows the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476 and precedes the Early Modern Era. , but fell into disuse in the 18th century. Thanks to the State Archivist (rijksarchivaris) Mr. J. Smit, the flag is back in use. It has been the official flag of Noord-Brabant since 1959. The flag of Antwerp follows the same pattern but makes use of the colours red, white, blue and yellow.
