The Focus Theatre in Dublin is a small but respected theatre which offers a variety of plays from new and established writers.
The theatre was founded in 1967 by the late Deirdre O'Connell
, and opened on 29 September with a production of Doris Lessing
's Play With a Tiger.
The Focus Theatre has been at the forefront of training actors and directors in the Stanislavski System
as well as putting on productions of the classics of European and international theatre.
Several notable actors began their careers at the Focus, including Gabriel Byrne
and Tom Hickey. The present Artistic Director is Joe Devlin.
After several years absence due to some remodeling the Focus Theatre have moved back into their original venue at 6 A Pembroke Place.
