Russian Footballer of the Year is an annual award given by "Futbol" weekly to the Russian Premier League
player of the season. The title is awarded according to the results of a poll conducted by the newspaper. Players of each Premier League club are polled.
This version of best Soviet/Russian player is the oldest in Russia because "Futbol" has started its voting since 1964 and there's no older versions exist in Russia.
