. Official team colors were going to be black, khaki tan, hunter green, and orange. The owners of the Safari were Jay Leonard (President) and Tony Richards (Vice-President).

The Safari never did get the chance to play a single game in the IPFL since they were to begin play following a renovation of the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. The IPFL folded before the renovations at the Coliseum were finished.

Fort Wayne would eventually see indoor football played in the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum by 2003 as the Fort Wayne Freedom
