Prior to joining the Supreme Court, he served as a Superior Court judge and as an attorney in private practice.

He resigned on July 31, 2008, prior to reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70 in August 2008. The vacancy he created will probably remain unfilled until a new governor is sworn in on January 2, 2009. After his retirement, Rebollo returned to private practice, joining the prestigious law firm of Fiddler, Gonzalez & Rodriguez in 2009.
