History

Their debut single Firefly entered the charts at number 23 in Oct '09 leaving the band as the only independent act in the Top50 and receiving huge critical acclaim for there self released effort. Following on this they released their second single entitled Free in December 2009 which climbed to no.20 and again sat as the countries only unsigned release in the Top50.

Having received substantial airplay to date the bands primary focus has been on their live shows and in turn this has built a very large and very loyal following. Testament to this is sold out shows in Whelans and the Village as well as a support slot on the Saw Doctors December Tour.

The bands self titled E.P released in September '09 brought great interest and after two very successful single releases the band returned to the studio to continue work on their debut album "Independence" which was released on July 23, 2010.

2010 - present

The band’s debut album "Independence" received rave reviews from Hot Press amongst others and was tipped as one of the best Irish records of 2010. The album boasts two Top 20 singles in "Firefly" (which was also 2fm's single of the week) and "Free" as well as the bands first Top 10 single "Hold On"

To date Frantic Jack have played in some of the country’s biggest venues, and following performances in the Olympia Theatre, The RDS, Whelan’s and The Village their live shows have become known for being hugely energetic, extremely tight and entertaining. Along the way they have performed alongside the likes of The Saw Doctors, Imelda May, Aslan and The Undertones.

After completing a huge 6 week, 25 date Irish Tour in support of their album in 2010 which in turn has led to a rapidly increasing following , the band have now begun work on their follow up album due for release in 2011. The album is being described as a more complete idea of the Frantic Jack sound.

On November 20, 2010 it was announced on the bands official website that they would be recording a second album due for release in 2011.

The bands next single "Fallen Heroes" will be released in March, 2011.
