In the late 70's he returned home to Cleveland, working for WJKW-TV 8, where he ironically covered (and did play by play for) a Cavs team that had his future broadcasting partner in Austin Carr, and also did play by play for the Indians.
McLeod later moved to KPIX-TV in San Francisco
, where he was a sports anchor as well as play by play man for the A's, and then WDIV-TV in Detroit, where he spent the bulk of his career.
He is a graduate of Point Park College in Pittsburgh
, where he pitched in the NAIA College World Series.
Since the 2006-2007 season, McLeod has served as the play-by-play announcer on the Cleveland Cavaliers broadcasts on Fox Sports Ohio.
