Prince Frederick Charles of Stolberg-Gedern (11 October 1693 – 28 September 1767) was a German
politician. Frederick Charles founded the Stolberg-Gedern line of the House of Stolberg
, which became extinct in the male line in 1804 and fell to the line of Stolberg-Wernigerode.
. After his father's death in 1710 he received by his father's will dated 23 January 1699 the Lordship of Gedern
and one sixth of the Lordship of Rochefort
. He later received another sixth from his brother Christian Ernest and after the death of Count Henry August of Stolberg-Schwarza. Frederick Charles also recevied his sixth.
At the express request of Frederick Charles of Stolberg-Gedern in the presence of the emperor Charles VII
in Frankfurt am Main, he purchased on 18 February 1742 for himself and his descandants and his sister, the abbess Auguste Marie at Herford Abbey
