Fremont Christian School (also known as FCS), is a private Evangelical Christian School located in Fremont, California
, USA. The school was founded in 1967. It serves preschool through 12th grade. The current secondary principal is Dr. Meyer. The school is located on Thornton Ave. The typical schedule of a secondary campus student consists of 8 periods including lunch. Each period is 45 minutes long with the exception on chapel days which each class is 40 minutes each. In 2005, Fremont Christian church changed their name from First Assembly of God to Harbor Light. As of recent years, Fremont Christian School has planned major structural changes to the campus. New buildings and playing fields have been planned. As of late 2010, a new building on the secondary campus has been added as classrooms for junior high school and high school students.
Some notable teachers that have been at FCS for some time are Mrs. Medellin, high school Spanish teacher, Mr. Liston, the U.S. History and Government teacher, and Mrs. Lunde, 2nd grade teacher.

There are 3 choral groups: Concert Choir, Living Water Ensemble and Junior High Girls' Choral. These groups have several concerts a year. The high school groups (Concert Chor and Living Water Ensemble) participate in choral competitions every year. The alternate between a competition in Pasedina, CA and a competition in New York, New York. In the past they have received many awards. They have also performed in Carnegie Hall, which we know takes "Practice, practice, practice."
There are 3 instrumental groups:Junior High Band, Warrior Band, and Dixie Dominus.
The Junior High Band is what gets most students started off in the instrumental music field. In this group they are taught how to master an instrument and how to read music. They perform several times a year. Warrior Band consists of many musically talented high school students. They are constantly performing and participating in band competitions. The most popular instrumental group at FCS is definitely Dixie Dominus. This group consists of highly talented students who perform jazz music that can truly make you want to get up and dance. They have received many awards from band compentitions and have many devoted fans. They perform several times a month. They can usually be found at the Farmers Market in Fremont on a Saturday morning. They also have released a CD so you can enjoy their music wherever you go.
The band participates in a band tour to Southern California every other year. On this trip they perform for several schools and other groups. This trip is not all work though because the students are able to have fun at Disneyland and Magic Mountain.
There are 2 handbell groups: a beginner handbell group and Living Witness Handbells. These groups often perform with the bands and in other concerts. Living Witness Handbells also participates in the band tour to Southern California.
The musical productions are quite grand and usually have the participation of over 200 students. The students begin rehearsal months ahead of time and have 4 performances. A professional orchestra is hired, a set is built and costumes are rented for these productions. These productions are put on the years that the Concert Choir does not go to New York.
The play productions are on the smaller scale of things. The cast usually consists of about 20 students or less. They rehearse for a couple of months and perform 4 times. A small set is built and a variety of costumes are rented. These productions may be smaller but they do not lack quality.
