The station has two tracks and a wide island platform
. The large platform was built when the station was a major transfer point to the Flushing–Ridgewood Line streetcar to Flushing
. This service has been replaced by the Q58 bus, served from the neighboring Fresh Pond Bus Depot.
To the north of the station is the Fresh Pond Yard. The yard however, is only accessible from the Middle Village – Metropolitan Avenue station. Trains heading to the yard must first platform at Metropolitan Avenue, then reverse into the yard.
