. Founded in 1923 by Mab Bradley, the school was then run for thirty years by her daughter, Clare White, who still takes an active part in the life of the school. The current headmaster is Ken James, who came to Fyling Hall in April 2008 from St John's School, Leatherhead.

The school is centred around a Georgian country house that dates from 1810 and is situated in 45 acres (182,108.7 m²) of wooded hillside within the North York Moors National Park.
