. Fifteen students are selected at each of the three universities based on their academic achievements, personalities, and previous life experiences. The program takes place over a year and a half. During the first year of the program students study at CBS in the fall and CUHK in the spring. In between the first and second year students have the options to pursue an internship or other independent pursuits. The final semester is spent at UNC. Following completion of the program, students return to their home university where they will spend one final semester to complete their degree program. During the study at each school students travel to important business centers on each continent with program coordinators to visit companies and government organizations.

As of December 2010, four batches of GLOBE students have graduated the program. A fifth group is currently in the middle of the program's three semesters.

Ranking and reputation

The GLOBE program is one of a kind as it is the only undergraduate program in the world that combines international business studies and making students live in truly international environments. At CUHK students majoring in Business Administration are eligible. At UNC students apply for the GLOBE program when applying to the Kenan-Flagler Business School. The GLOBE administration selects students through an extensive interview process to evaluate whether students will be able to make use of the program to the optimal extent, and to see how the students' personalities will fit the program.

The three universities at which GLOBE students study all receive top rankings on their respective continents. In 2009, CUHK was ranked second in Asia, CBS was ranked as the third-best international business school in the world after Harvard and London Business School, and the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC was ranked sixth-best business school in the USA.

Student life

During the course of the program all the GLOBE students live and study together. Students also take the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States.

Study trips

The third batch (graduated December 9, 2009) visited Brussels, Berlin, Shanghai, Tokyo, the Research Triangle Park in North Carolina, and New York City on its study trips. The students visited companies such as Deutsche Bahn in Berlin, Toyota City in Japan, and Standard & Poor's in New York City.

Media coverage

Although still a young program the GLOBE program has been featured in numerous major business publications around the world. The program was referenced in an article about students' perceptions of companies in the Financial Times and BusinessWeek. The program has also been the focus of articles in business media such as the Danish newspaper Børsen.

After GLOBE

Students graduating from the GLOBE program have gone to work at companies such as Maersk, General Electric, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and various embassies around the world.
