Built December 1950. First shed allocation Chester. March 1959 shed allocation Oswestry. Conducted improved draughting tests, February 1954. May 1965 and last shed allocation Shrewsbury. Withdrawn October 1965. Acquired by Woodham's, Barry May 1966. Sold to Dart Valley Railway and left as the 5th departure from Barry June 1970. Restored 1973.

She carried the Great Western Livery which she would never have carried in her mainline life, as she was built 2 years after the end of the GWR. Following overhaul in 2011 she was re-introduced at the Churston Heritage Festival carrying British Rail all-black livery and bearing the temporary nameplates "Torquay Manor" which served as a stand in until the Lydham Manor plates had been refurbished.
