Encyclopedia
Gaga is a dance technique and associated vocabulary that was invented by Ohad Naharin
. The technique strives to establish a flow throughout the body that allows complete fluidity.
The Gaga vocabulary consists of words that specify affected body areas and how to perform movement. For example, "luna" refers to the joint between the metacarpals and the proximal phalanges
of the hand and similar joints in the feet. Gaga terminology regards these circular areas as "moons", hence the name "luna". The objective of "luna" is to create isolations between the moons.
