. The school has its own GTV, a broadcasting station covering extensive news created by Amelia Moreno; The school is also home to a very talented theater group, Infinite Theatre Group, headed by drama teacher James Nunes, who perform a wide range of pieces from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream to Alas, Poor Yorick: The Tragic Farce of Hamlet's Fool. The drama program currently faces dismantlement from the Galt School Board.
Their school colors are red and white with black trim, home to the proud and mighty Warrior.
Galt High School also has a large Agricultural department, which is connected with the organization Future Farmers of America, or FFA. The Agriculture department, coined the Ag-department, features many class, including agricultural versions of sciences such as Biology and electives such as floriculture.
Galt High School has many sports teams, including men's basketball, baseball, football, wrestling, and soccer, and women's basketball, softball, soccer, and volleyball. Swim and Track and Field, and Cross Country are also offered each year and are co-ed. There is an annual Powder Puff football event in which the women play touch football, usually held in the fall.
Galt High School features an annual prom, usually held outside the school in places such as the Lodi Hutchinson Street Square. The prom is open to both juniors and seniors, but sophomores and freshman can attend if they are invited by an upperclassmen attending. The dance features professional photographers, dance music, and free food and drink.
It was also used as a site to film the medium length YouTube movie featuring Ryn Higa (NigaHiga) produced by Wong Fu Productions. The movie has over eight million views as of 2/5/11
Throughout the years leading up to the 2009-2010 academic years, Galt High School faced problems of overcrowding because it was the only school available in the area. Students from Galt, Harold, Wilton, Acampo, and Thorton all attended Galt High. However, a second high school, Liberty Ranch High, was built to offset the large amount of students from the ever-increasing population of the Central Valley.
