History
Garfield is presumed to be named after the 20th President of the United States, James Garfield. Garfield was once home to a general store and post office. Today, some of the areas southwest of Garfield, specifically Poncho Creek and the Tomorrow River, are becoming a part of the Richard J. Hemp Fishery Area.External links
