Garrett Temple is an American professional basketball
player who plays for A.S. Junior Pallacanestro Casale
in Italy. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
.
A 6'6" guard, Temple played at Louisiana State University
from 2005 to 2009. As a senior, he became LSU's all-time leader in minutes played (4,432), breaking a record set by Howard Carter
in 1983.
. He did not make the Rockets' opening day roster, and joined the Rio Grande Valley Vipers
of the NBA D-League. After averaging 14.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists with the Vipers, the Rockets signed him to the first of two ten-day contracts on February 8, 2010. Temple then signed a 10-day contract with the Sacramento Kings
on March 3, 2010, After that contract expired on March 13, 2010, he signed a 10-day contract with the San Antonio Spurs
. On March 23, 2010 he signed with the Spurs for the rest of the season. On April 6, 2010 he received his first start filling in for injured George Hill and responded with 15 points, 4 assist, and 3 rebounds (all career highs), in 27 minutes of play. On November 11, 2010, Temple was waived by the Spurs.
He later re-signed with the Valley Vipers, but on December 31, he was traded to the Erie BayHawks for Jeff Adrien
