Jasgur left the film industry, as Marc Senseman put it, "before he knew he was in it". Gary was actually his middle name, and in high school Gary preferred to be called Mel. Jasgur married in 1956, and had four children and ten grandchildren. Jasgur died on August 22, 1994, at the age of 58.
