Gazelle is a service of Second Rotation, Inc., based in Massachusetts
in the United States, that allows consumers to sell their old electronics — such as cellphones, laptops, mp3 players, digital cameras, camcorders, gaming consoles, GPS devices, and others — for cash. The website, gazelle.com, has users submit the condition of their used devices then get a cash offer that the user can either accept or decline. If an item has no value, Gazelle recycles the components of the devices in what it calls a responsible way.
On January 29, 2008, Second Rotation announced that it had raised $4.4 million in Series A funding
from Venrock. And on July 28, 2008, a year after Rousseau Aurelien, CEO, founded the company, SecondRotation.com became Gazelle.com.
