 magazine interview confirmed that General Tso will enter the studio in May 2009 to begin working on their next studio album tentatively entitled Half of 1500: SMD. Two additional tracks entitled Hurricane Destroyer and Bricks and Rust were recorded in late 2009 while jamming in Pittsburgh. Rumors are circulating regarding an accompanying tour, but have not been confirmed by the band or management.

During a show at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Denver, the band announced their new album Weed and Booze would be released in 2011 and include the previously unreleased track Crab Rangoon.

Touring

General Tso maintains an ambitious worldwide touring schedule, which often includes unscheduled performances at small venues under assumed names. Due to the complex structure of the band's music, they prefer to play short sets and generally do not repeat night to night. According to the band's Official Facebook fanpage, they recently performed the track "Acer Siropus" for the first time in 11 years during a sold out show in Quebec.
