Geo-Mod technology, which stands for Geometry Modification Technology, is a video game engine that allows players to alter and destroy the environment
around them (e.g. blowing a tunnel through walls instead of using a door). First introduced in 2001, the game engine was created by Volition, Inc. and has been used in the games Red Faction
and Red Faction II

The 2009 game Red Faction: Guerrilla
uses a new Geo-Mod engine. It was originally called RED, which stood for Realtime Environment Destruction and has since been renamed to Geo-Mod 2.0. This new engine lets players dynamically destroy structures, such as buildings, fortifications, etc., as opposed to the terrain in the first Geo-Mod engine.
