Georg Weber was a German historian. He studied at Erlangen. In 1839, he became a teacher in the high school of Heidelberg, and from 1848 to 1872 was its director. Among Weber's historical publications may be mentioned Geschichte der englischen Reformation (History of the English Reformation, 1845-53); Weltgeschichte in übersichtlicher Darstellung (World History in Overview, 1866); Geschichte des Volkes Israel (History of the people of Israel, with Holtzmann, 1867); and Allgemeine Weltgeschichte für die gebildeten Stände (Basic World History for educated people, 1857-80).
