McQuinn was a career batting average was .276 hitter and a total of 135 home runs and 794 RBI's in 1550 games. After retiring, he was a manager in the farm system of the Boston/Milwaukee Braves

He was inducted into the Arlington Sports Hall of Fame in 1958 and the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame in 1978. He died in Alexandria, Virginia
