Death
On January 10, 1809, ten days into the new year, George Steptoe Washington died at the age of 37 in Augusta, Georgia. His ex-wife, Mary Coles Payne, died a year before him, and his widower, Lucy Payne re-married to Judge Thomas ToddThomas Todd
