since 1955 and organized by German Badminton Association or Deustcher Badminton Verband (DBV).
Known as German Badminton Championships until 1980, the tournament than allowed to known as Open Championships began 1981. The tournament currently sponsored by Yonex
. While it does attract professional players, the tournament now become part of BWF Grand Prix Gold event.
