German Township is bordered on the north by Luzerne and Redstone Townships, on the northeast by Menallen Township, on the east by South Union Township, on the southeast by Georges Township, on the south by Nicholson Towship, and on the west by the Monongahela River and Greene County. The entire borough of Masontown is enclaved within the township.
