German submarine U-567 (U-567) was a type VII C
submarine of the German Kriegsmarine
during the Second World War.
She was commissioned on 24 October 1939 and her keel laid down on 27 April the following year. She was launched on 6 March 1941 and entered service in 3rd U-boat Flotilla on 24 April the same year under the command of Kapitänleutnant Theodor Fahr. She left that flotilla on 1 August 1941, sinking the 3,485 ton British merchant ship Fort Richepanse on 3 September, switching captains to Kapitänleutnant Engelbert Endrass
on 15 October and joining 7th U-boat Flotilla on 1 November that year.
She attacked convoy HG 76 in the North Atlantic to the north-east of the Azores, made up of 32 cargo ships and escorted by 5 destroyers, 7 corvettes and 1 aircraft carrier, sinking the 3,324 ton Norwegian merchant ship Annavore on 21 December 1941 but being sunk herself later that day at 44°02′N 20°10′W by depth charges dropped by HMS Deptford and HMS Samphire
- there were no survivors from her crew of 47.
