Gerry Malone

Peter Gerald "Gerry" Malone MA, LLB (born 21 July 1950) is a British Conservative
politician who was an MP from 1983–87 and 1992–97.
Born in Glasgow
, Malone was educated at St Aloysius' College, Glasgow, and the University of Glasgow
. He was an unsuccessful Conservative candidate in the February 1974 general election in the Glasgow Provan constituency, where he defeated by Hugh Brown (Labour). He made other unsuccessful attempts to be elected to parliament at Glasgow Pollok in 1979, and in the Glasgow Hillhead by-election in 1982 where he lost the traditionally Conservative seat to Roy Jenkins

. Malone challenged the result in the high court, which was declared void, causing a by-election
